Printing machine dampening is a liquid used to keep areas of the plate that do not feature print graphics clean and free from ink.
Each project has its own balancing point between the amount of ink and dampening solution required; therefore only the quantity of ink needed to achieve desired saturation, and only the dampening solution quantity necessary to keep the plate areas clean, must be used. Targeted control of these processes improves print quality and the final job outcome considerably.
IMAF has devised and designed a broad range of printing chemicals dedicated to improving dampening solution performance. In addition to the classic alcohol solvents, which at this point are standard in the offset and flexo printing market, IMAF has introduced and tested alternative VOC free systems to reduce environmental impact while maintaining quality and results.
